Hero.

Most of you have probably already read this, but this is so, so important. I think it’s a damn shame that the name of the Aurora shooter or the marathon bombers is common knowledge but not the name of this brave young man. His father said that, “He made his mother cry, but he saved hundreds of mothers from crying for their children.”I can’t imagine such pure selflessness. I remember when I was 15, and I couldn’t have done something like this. I don’t think I’m even this selfless now. Young heroes like Aitzaz and Malala give me hope for Pakistan, and the world. They’re the change that we need. They’re the people who you should judge Islam by, not the extremists. I know I don’t have that many followers, but please, for anyone who reads this today, spare a moment to think about this young hero and his grieving family.

So today was incredibly special for me. It was the first time I’ve given a piece of art to someone outside of my family and got to actually experience their reaction to it. Thanks so much for making that possible for me Deanna <3
That being said, I’ve now got commissions officially open to the public! I’ll be posting art from those as well as doodles and older pieces in this blog from here on out as well. Looking forward to this!

Paige does gorgeous watercolor work! Look at how handsome Pudge is in this! <3 I have a thing for artists (having been a starving one at one point myself) and I have a thing for Corgis. Combine them with someone who will do a lovely job painting your dog? <3 Have to reblog!! :D

Feminism is having a wardrobe malfunction.

Does your brand of feminism remove barriers for women, or simply move them around? Does is expand options for women, or does it just shift them? You don’t liberate women by forcing them to choose option B instead of option A. What is comfortable for you might not be comfortable for someone else, and it’s entirely possible that what you see as oppressive, other women find comfortable or even downright liberating.

Before you think the girl in the middle is a strawman, let me tell you I used to be her, back in my misguided youth. I considered myself the standard to which other people should adhere. But that was stupid. It’s not up to me to tell people how to dress, and it’s much nicer to let everyone choose for themselves.

Some women would feel naked without a veil. Some women would find it restrictive. Some women would feel restricted by a bra. Some women would feel naked without one. Some women would feel restricted by a tight corset. Others love them. Some wear lots of clothes with a corset. Some only wear the corset and nothing else. What makes any article of clothing oppressive is someone forcing you to wear it. And it’s just as oppressive to force someone not to wear something that they want to wear.

I drew this today because I’m extra tired of hearing people shit on how i dress.

I’m sorry, it appears you’ve taken out a fifty-sixty year subscription. However, we can pause it for nine months as long as you sign a contract that says you’ll take out a subscription to Baby Daily for at least eighteen years

Damn those Terms and Conditions.

Over 40% of bi people have considered suicide
Nearly 50% of bi women are rape survivors
Nearly 45% of bi youth have been bullied online
55% of bi people are closeted at work
1 in 5 bi people suffer from poor health
1 in 4 bi people suffer from from PTSD
1 in 4 bi people are in poverty

Causal reminder that the top statistic is higher than it is for gay and lesbian kids.

Actually, they’re all higher. Look at the source links.

Be safe. Be aware.

I know this guy, I was actually gonna post this on tumblr but I’m glad someone beat me to it. I met him at Fattal in Montreal, he lives (or at least his last known residence is) at the LoudHouse in Montreal (Rue D’Ibervile & St Catherine). He invited me over but something about him made me feel uncomfortable and he was outted as a rapist 2 days later. Friends have also said that he could have headed west so keep an eye out that way. Probably not in the States because he isn’t allowed to leave Canada yet, but you never know.
He has refused any help or accountability for his actions.
Please signal boost

Curious Father Finds Out His Son Secretly Tends Starving Dogs

http://noarmycanstopanidea.com/curious-father-finds-out-his-son-secretly-tends-starving-dogs/

A curious father was left stunned after discovering where his young son was going on his daily walks.

He noticed his son left their house in the rural Philippines every day for two weeks, carrying a backpack, and one day he decided to tag along.

The pair stopped on the side of the road and moments later a group of starving stray dogs came towards them.

His son told him he had been taking the trips to feed the dogs, who appear to be infected with mange, a skin disease caused by parasitic mites.

Remembering when he first saw the animals, he explained: ‘I’m embarrassed to say I was pretty disgusted. But my son changed my perspective entirely.

‘He doesn’t have my prejudice and paranoia I guess. I was blown away when I saw that little zombie pup do a hi-five again and again.’

The proud father now supplies the dog food for his son and hopes to treat the stray dogs for their skin condition and eventually re-home them.

He added his son, who has been taking precautions to disinfect himself after interacting with the strays, has ambitions to open his own animal shelter.
